Designed with multi-tasking ADT over DOS, the PC platform has the ability to manage hundreds of tasks simultaneously. This allows the robust Message Master paging software to function with ease on a multi-processor PC. The Voice Mail feature utilizes the Dialogic API and interface boards. This interface incorporates multiple CPUs for processing of voice mail, system prompts and numeric messaging.
The Message Master performs TNPP and TAP router functions on either a stand-alone basis or in concert with other paging terminal functions. Serial ports may be configured to route TNPP or TAP traffic to multiple paging terminals or paging companies, local or remote. Dial-up remote access by system administrators allows for system changes and the collection of traffic statistics.
The TNPP and TAP router also serve as a concentrator. This application allows one Paging Terminal port to receive traffic from many sources. Network facilities may be either dial-up, dedicated or direct connect circuits. The Network Management Module with remote dial-in access collects traffic statistics based on characters and number of messages sent or received. TAP IDs are verified against the system database or the valid range look-up table. Unwanted TNPP Page Types may be filtered allowing only the desired traffic to pass through your system. Full statistics are collected for all TNPP traffic allowing detailed reports of the number of messages and characters received for each page type and class from each system The TNPP Router can optionally log all CAPCODEs/IDs, Page Types, Page Classes, and message lengths to disk.
Message Master has a full complement of Voice Mail features. Callers accessing the pager/voice-mail box receive prompts which lead them through the options. A key-ahead feature allows the skipping of prompts for those that are familiar with the system. Custom greetings, skip message, archive message, delete message, personalized passwords, urgent message, time-of-day store and forward of messages, plus much more are available to subscribers.

When voice mail is delivered to a mail box, an alpha or numeric page is generated to notify the subscriber.
Speech recognition allows subscribers to speak numbers 0- 9, "yes", "no" and "oh", versus using the key pad on a telephone. When using a car phone this feature allows drivers to keep their eyes on the road while speaking passwords and selecting menu options.
Subscribers provide a list of events with associated messages to be queued for delivery during the upcoming year. At the stated time, the message is sent. Intervals may be hourly, daily, weekly, monthly or yearly for each event. Examples of applications for this feature include; recurring meetings, birthdays, anniversaries, taking medication, and other important events.
The cost and time to process alpha messages are reduced with the use of an Alpha Concentrator. Serving as a front- end to a paging terminal alphanumeric port, this feature expands the port capacity and off-loads the call processing function. The Alpha Concentrator passes only the processed alphanumeric data into the paging terminal. This increases the utilization and efficiency of the paging terminal alpha ports by a factor of upto 64:1 thus eliminating the need to buy additional expensive system ports.
